Rene Russo, born in Burbank the state of California on September 2nd, 1970 to Shirley Balocca who was a factory worker/barmaid and Nino Russo. Rene Russo's father was a sculptor/mechanic who left the family as Rene was only two years old. Rene, Toni and their mother were raised by her single mother. The father of Rene was Italian origins and her mom was Italian with German-English Irish heritage. Rene, an aspiring junior high school student suffering from scoliosis, had to be fitted with a complete body brace. Jolly Green Giant was her nickname among her peers because of her height. Braces were removed after she started at Burroughs High School with Ron Howard, but even afterwards, her persona remained somewhat solitary. Rene quit school after tenth-grade due to her inability to handle her academics or engaging with her peers. Because of the financial strain, she began to take various part-time jobs throughout the following two years, many with benefit of no cost. In a movie theatre, she was given free tickets to movies. At a restaurant she was offered free food. It was common for her to work three jobs in one day. Her job was in an eyeglass manufacturing plant, in charge of examining lenses.
