Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Honorary Chair in Psychology of the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous prizes and grants. She has advised numerous federal agencies and governments across the globe on policies and studies related to treatment of child victims by the justice system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of America Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
